Eyelash Extensions Certification in Minnesota

The trend of eyelash extensions has become increasingly popular around the world. Every woman wants to have a gorgeous look with beautiful long eyelashes. There are various training programs in the USA. If you want to become a certified eyelash extension artist, you can join any of these programs.

Each state has different requirements for certification. If you live in Minnesota, you can follow the guidelines that we've detailed for you.

LICENSE

For the certification of eyelash extensions, the most important requirement is that you have a license for cosmetics.

To get a license, you must have a diploma from a high school or GED. You must be trained at a cosmetology school approved by the Minnesota Cosmetology Board of Examiners. Some schools require an entrance exam and interview before enrollment.

TEST

After training at a cosmetics school, a written exam is now required. To register for exams, contact PSI. There are two parts to the Minnesota Cosmetology Exam (MCE): General and State. You must pass both to get the license. General fee is $35 and State fee is $25.

The general part contains 155 MCQs that you have to complete within three hours. While the other part contains 35 MCQs and the time given is one hour.

APPLY FOR A LICENSE

After you have passed both parts, you can apply for the first license. Complete the application and submit it by wire transfer or check along with the $139 fee. Other documents you need to send are:

  • Copy of Diploma or GED
  • Cosmetic program certificate
  • Certificate of skills issued by a recognized cosmetology school
  • The result of both the general and the state shows that you passed the exam within a year

Make a copy of all documents before submitting them and keep them as a record. Submit the documents to the Board of Cosmetologist Examiners.

After meeting all requirements, you can obtain a Minnesota cosmetology license. You should know the rules for maintaining the license. The license expires after three years and must then be renewed. To do this, you have to complete four hours of further training. Three hours are dedicated to safety, health and sanitation, and one hour to Minnesota laws and regulations.
