LICENSE

To get the eyelash extensions certificate, you must have a license as a cosmetologist. To get the license, you can follow the procedure given below.

COMPLETE A COSMETOLOGY PROGRAM OR TRAINING

You have two options for obtaining a Delaware eyelash extension license. The first is completing a cosmetology program and the second is education. Both have different requirements. For the cosmetology program, you must complete a comprehensive program of at least 1500 hours of instruction. For this purpose you can attend a trade school, a junior college or a special cosmetology school. After this training, you may get a certificate/diploma or an associate degree.

Certificate/diploma programs take 15 to 18 months to complete, while an associate degree takes 2 years.

COSMETOLOGY EXAMINATION

Upon completion of a cosmetics program or apprenticeship in Delaware, you must complete an online exam and license application administered by Professional Credential Services (PCS). The fee is $225. At the time of application, you must be at least 16 years old and have a 10th grade degree.

Once your application has been approved, you will receive an email notification from PCS. The email will include a Practical Certificate of Eligibility and a Theory Authorization to Test (ATT) letter confirming the time, date and location for the practical test. Practical exams are conducted in Newark, New Jersey.

After receiving the ATT letter, you can contact the PSI to fix the theoretical exam. This is a computer-based exam with multiple choice questions. In order to pass the practical and theoretical exam, you must achieve at least 75 points. If you pass the exams, PCS will inform the board of your status. Now you can pay the application fee of 110 USD and your license will be issued.

DO NOT EXPIRE LICENSE

In Delaware, the cosmetics license expires on October 31 of every even year. You will receive a renewal notification a few weeks before the license expiration date. It contains instructions on how to access the online renewal application. The fee is US$110.

In Delaware, there is no continuing education requirement to retain the license.
