Eyelash extensions are used to enhance the length, fullness, curl, and thickness of natural eyelashes. These are usually made from synthetic eyelash extensions. To get certified in eyelash extensions in Iowa, there are certain requirements mentioned below:

Attending cosmetology school fulfills the educational requirements for cosmetology licensure. The school must be Board-approved and you have to complete 2100 hours there. There is a list of approved cosmetology schools on the board website.

Cosmetology school will give you both practical and theoretical instruction as well as prepare you for the exam licensure and your career as a cosmetologist.

You have to take the national-interstate council cosmetology exam in Iowa. In which you must secure 75% or higher to qualify for licensure. Exam includes two sections:

  1. The national cosmetology written exam (90)

The written exam includes multiple-choice questions. Through a practical exam, your ability will be assessed.

You will have to complete the following steps:

  3. Submit your official diploma or transcripts from cosmetology school
  4. Official scores from the NIC exam

After approving the application, you can receive your license.
